This is a continuation of my mini-series called “The View from 10,000 Feet!”.  You can read Part 1 here and Part 2 here.

So God reignited the desire to fly in my heart on The World Race.  What does that actually mean?

It means that learning how to fly has become priority number one in my life.  As many of you know, I moved to Georgia just over a month ago.  I’m working at Adventures in Missions, the organization that runs The World Race.  Adventures has graciously allowed me to start a new program here called Flight Ministry.  The purpose of this ministry is to investigate and understand the possibilities of Adventures in Missions having a mission aviation department.  In order to do that, they need an expert in the area.  Thankfully, they’ve allowed me to be developed as that expert!

One of the scariest things that’s ever happened to me took place in South Africa during month 11 of my Race.  God told me that He wanted me to fundraise all the money for flight school.  This freaked me out.  I’ve been really blessed by gracious and loving family and friends that have always supported me for mission trips, but this was different.  He wants me to ask people for money to invest in myself – no hungry kids, people with AIDS, or orphans.  I didn’t want to do it.  After talking with a few people, I realized something – that is, God wanted it to be tough for me.  He wanted it to be difficult and something that I can’t obtain within my own power or strength, so when it does happen, all the glory goes to Him!  I can’t do this in my own strength and I can’t do it alone.

Starting in February of 2014, I’ll be starting flight training at a flight school about an hour away from Gainesville.  I’m so excited I can hardly stand it!  I’m currently enrolled at Colorado Christian University in Denver, Colorado to earn a certificate in Biblical Studies.  This certificate is a requirement for other major mission aviation companies.

I have to ask.  God didn’t give me a choice.  The number one thing that I need from you, my friends and family, are your continued prayers and support.  You always encourage me and love me so well.  Thank you!  This thing won’t happen without prayer.  I also need people who are willing to partner with me financially.  I would be super-duper grateful if you are able to give monthly.  At the end of the day, all the flight training necessary will be about $100,000.  That’s a lot of money!  Like I said before, it seems impossible, but God has commissioned me for this and He will make it happen!

I’d love to talk to you more if you have questions or concerns.  You can email me here or you can call me anytime at 303-242-7246.

If you are willing and able to support me financially, you can do so by clicking here or by mailing a check with “Flight Ministry” on the memo line to:

No matter how you choose to support me – prayerfully or financially – I greatly treasure your involvement in my life.  I wouldn’t be where I am today without each one of you.  Thank you so very much!
